Our goal is to present the facts related to the murder of the DeFeo family in Amityville, New York, as well as the subsequent haunting of the Lutz family a year later. Both stories have been dramatized and fictionalized by Hollywood, and over the years a lot of myths and misconceptions have been created. We attempt here to peel away the myths and examine just what was said by the "key players."

This is an ongoing project. The information contained herein have been culled from various books, interviews and documentaries, but they are not necessarily the definitive final word. There may be errors and/or omissions.
