Did Ronnie act alone?

Post by OldSoul70 » Sun Nov 19, 2006 1:49 pm

I'm def not thinking that Dawn took part in it, but I have been starting to wonder if one of his friends were there.

Apparently so did the jury some 30 years ago:)

You might want to add an 'undecided' in there just to round out the poll Tia. You may get a few people who haven't formed that opinion yet.

I voted that I think Ronnie killed all his family, alone. I have seen no evidence that states otherwise.

" Well, I did have the idea of killing not only my own family... the Brigante family and the DeFeo family that same night. What made me stop I could not tell you because to this day I feel I should have killed them all. Inside I feel you should never start something you can't finish. "

Wow ZZ, haven't seen THAT one. That's just chilling. I voted for he and he alone. I think the fear would have kept the little ones in their beds if they did wake up. As for Dawn, innocent as the rest. People ,as far as I know, generally don't wear jammies to a family slaying...

Hi Old,

The mysterious 'third person' has finally been revealed. Tracey DeFeo has lied for a solid year and said she didn't know who the 'other person was' but I've now seen proof with my own eyes that Tracey knew Ron was going to claim it was his "friend" Bobby Kelske involved, she knew this in 2005.

Several things shoot down this latest lie of Ronald DeFeos: First, if you've seen the crime scene photos, that house was fingerprinted top-to-bottom. The police knew who was in there -- and who wasn't.

Police questioned AND released Bobby Kelske.

Most importantly, at his trial, RJD stated that he didn't know who "OR WHAT" supposedly ran down the stairs. He clearly implied he didn't even know if it was a human or perhaps an animal. It's in his trials transripts.

Kelske took the stand at DeFeo's trial. RJD at no time made any move to implicate him or speak against him in any way.

and remember, Ronnie tried to tell the story that it was Richard Rommondoe (sp?) with him during the murders. One little problem with that. The state of NY found out no such person existed -- "Richard" was totally invented by Ronnie and Geraldine Gates "supposedly." Ronnie claims she "made" him say that.

Had Ronnie really been truthful about Kelske being there -- and being involved too, remember -- he'd have told police so that police could have checked him for GSR.

Strongly suggest you do not fall for DeFeo's latest lie in a very long line of lies. There is absolutely no evidence that Bobby Kelske was involved with those murders -- in fact Kelske testified that RJD had threatened HIM, TWICE with a shotgun -- and a few other folks too! He went after Kelske on two occasions -- with witnesses backing him up.

Remember, we're talking about the same guy who tried to claim his mother killed the whole family AND shot herself once in the back -- with a rifle. I don't think a professional contortionist could do that, much less a lady who was very obviously shot to death in her own bed.

Butchie butchered them all, alone. Thanks to the perpetual state of denial he lives in, it's doubtful he'll ever make parole. Thank God for that. After all, he's also written hit lists SINCE the murders and told two psychiatrists that he had every intent of getting out and killing all fifty of them on the list, including his grandfathers, aunt, uncle, the presiding judge, the prosecuting attorney AND his OWN attorney, to name a few.
"I'm gonna tell you straight up. I didn't care who they blamed as long as it wasn't me. I mean, that's the bottom line. I did not care. I didn't care then and I don't care now." - Ronald DeFeo Jr. interview for "First Person Killers"

Hey there. After reading what you write, I guess I didnt know some things. Like tracy lying. Not that I believe any of the things she says, but sometimes It makes you think. I also didnt take into account that bobby was questioned and that the house was researched from top to bottom. The bottom line was I wasnt thinking lol. I used to believe that he did it alone and I can go back to thinking that. Next time ill do more reading. Thanks again. and zz thanks for that link.

Bottom line is that you can look into all kinds of theories but if there is no proof to back them up then why would you believe them. Okay so Kelske is the one who is getting blamed at this point, I have a few problems with this. First of all, what is it that he has supposedly done? What part was he responsible for exactly? Second of all, I have seen no proof of his involvement - if anybody has some I'd like to see it. Third, I wonder how his family feels about him being blamed for something so sinister. I don't know what kind of character he is but I am sure his family must be hurt that all of these accusations are swirling around after his death.

Can anyone help me out and fill me in on which part he is being accused of? I am assuming that he is being blamed for the children's deaths, am I right? What is Dawn's role in this then now that Kelske is being accused?

Good point. I was pretty tired when I did the poll and didn't think to. I've just tried and don't seem to be able to add that option ::sigh::
I'll try again. If anyone knows how to do it, can you let me know?

i'm 100% firm on him killing his family. No black gloves gave him a gun. He might have worn black gloves, but he pulled the trigger. He didn't get any help, although he shoulda seeked some mental help before flipping out...

The Hans Holzer quote...I think had a lot to do with is bravado, false mind you. It's the behavior of a spoiled brat to 'think' they do not care when really they do. When the full impact of his actions come to bear, he deflected at an early age a sense of not giving a damn.

I have no doubt he and he alone was the sole person responsible for his family's murder. That being said, it's 2009 and I don't think that same 23 year old kid from '74 exists anymore. Dare I even say it: I think he has "matured" in the last couple of years. I think he is more accepting of the fact no one on the outside believes the twists and turns and God so will, he can now embark on that road to redemption.

...now, we are talking about a convicted mass murderer here, so I reserve the right to be cautious with hoping for the better in this matter. The better being, acceptance of full culpability and work toward rehabilitation, even it this means he spend the rest of his days behind bars.

I feel the same. And I also feel this false bravado was behind his claim of almost killing his dad on a previous occasion (when his gun misfired). I just don't believe it.

That's very interesting you mention that, Dan. I've had issue with this, too. I'm not sure what to believe regarding this alleged incident. Seems to me that this would have been HUGE in the household to simply 'get passed'; although, if there is any credence to the dysfuntionalism in all families, I guess anything's possible.
