This program makes me believe in the paranormal less and less. I avoid it at all costs. I find the hosts pretty unlikable, guys in their early 30's acting like they're in their teens who got their first taste of owning recording equipment. I can just imagine them in a bar afterwards having a laugh about what they just filmed.

Ghost Adventures’ Star Gets Fired, Reveals Disappointing Truth About Paranormal Television Series

Aaron Goodwin has been fired from the Travel Channel television series Ghost Adventures, according to Travel Channel executive and spokesman Richard Roscolelli. Goodwin was fired from the series following a rant while being interviewed on a popular podcast. During the interview on the Are We Alone show hosted by Joshua Sweeney, Goodwin went on about an eight minute rant about how the Travel Channel took everything that was authentic and truly paranormal about the show and made a mockery of it by making the crew record its own voices in place of actual EVP’s (Electronic Voice Phenomena) when filming did not reveal enough evidence to satisfy producers.

During the two-hour podcast, Goodwin dished out the disappointing facts. It did not stop with the Travel Channel making them record their own EVP’s but he says they actually made them go back and film reactions of the crew so that they would act surprised when hearing things that did not actually occur.

“If we film all night long and came back with uneventful material, they actually make us go back, and act out scenes. It’s sickening really,” said an angry Goodwin. “This started off as a real thing, it is just not consistent and active enough for the big-shots at the network, so they basically have turned us into liars. We have been committing a fraud in my eyes and I’ve just about had enough.”

Co-stars of Goodwin, Zak Bagans and Nick Groff, have been unavailable for comment. Roscolelli says he expects the show to go on without Goodwin despite his efforts to ‘expose the truth.’

“We are not sure why he said what he said but it is all false. We suspect their may be a feud involving one, or both, of his co-stars, and what better way to get at them than attack the show?” Roscolelli said.

Ghost Adventures, which premiered October 17, 2008, just recently concluded its ninth season on July 12th. No plans or announcements have been made on when, or even if, there will be a tenth season. Some believe the show may have been cancelled, hence the statements made by Goodwin.

One of two scenarios exist from this:

1. The show actually hypes up the reactions up to and including faking the EVP's as Goodwin suggested and the other stars of the show are told to not comment by the producers while a story is spun, e.g., a feud exists and Goodwin has an axe to grind; or,
2. A feud actually does exist as the producers reveal and Goodwin has an axe to grind.

That article about Aaron Goodwin & Ghost Adventures is untrue, it was created as satire:

Did any of you know that Paranormal State's Ryan Buell has been accused of fraud? He's been accused of stealing thousands of dollars from fans, claiming he was going to have events that never came off, and the people can't get refunds.

Just bringing this up because the show he was on was similar to Ghost Adventures.

Ryan always came across as a fraud to me, so I'm not surprised.

You're smart, I was always fooled by Ryan. Some are even starting to question whether he ever really had cancer or not.

You're welcome. I thought about posting a topic about it but I'm not sure how many here knew his show. Michelle Balenger and Chip Coffey both had to back out of his tours because they never got information about hotels, transpotation, etc.

People also lost money in signing up for his online classes. I'm glad I never sunk any money into that stuff.

I remember those two. They do the Paranormal Kids show. I used to watch the Paranormal show with Ryan. Is it still being shown? new episodes?

No, they stopped doing new eps in 2011.

They used to show repeats a lot but they haven't for about a year now.

I imagine Ryan may face criminal charges if they can prove he faked the cancer and stole people's money. Chip Coffey said the amount of money lost is in the six figures.

Reality based "investigative" shows such as this one destroyed my faith in hauntings. They are horrible.

It's about time they are doing something about Ryan, I've seen so many complaints about all the money he and PRS took for events that never happened, merchandise that was never shipped.....I was surprised he was just going on Facebook like nothing ever happened.

I have always said, right from the outset when the air waves were (again) being flooded with (fake) demon hunters and occult specialists (of hype and fiction), that they are a waste of time and that their deeds/shows would come back to haunt them. Investigative shows of (lost) society leaders: make way for others that are true & real and get back in the closet where you belong!
Father Ryan: I'm not in the habit of blaming Satan for every phenomenon.

Do you think any of the investigative shows are legit?

I read that Sergey is still asking people for money for PRS. I don't know why anyone would donate to them after all this. These reports of theft have been going for years now. These are college educated guys, or at least that's what they claimed to be on the show, they should be able to get jobs and fund their society themselves, and if they don't have legit jobs, how are they paying rent/mortgage? I'm sure most of the donations to PRS went to their own pockets.

Thank God I never bought any merchandise from them, because I did enjoy the show enough to consider it before all these reports came out.
