Photo's of House - Faces in Windows

For Discussion Of Amityville Photographs

Below is an image that you can see in the famous "Newsday" photo. Just over the "High Hopes" sign, you can see what appears to be a demonic-looking face peering out from behind a window pane. Most people pick it up right away (and say that it looks kinda like Linda Blair from the Exorcist). Assuming most people don't see it right away, I created an image which helps you to see it more clearly. I've added a dramatic comparison underneath the original photo to give it a creepy perspective in case you're having a hard time seeing a face.

By the way, I had to place this huge, disgusting, ugly-ass watermark in the middle of the picture because the last 3 times I altered Amityville pictures, someone went and posted them all over the internet having mis-labeled them and it caused all sorts of confusion. LOL, so I apologize ahead of time :)

Here it is:

Thanks so much Billy...

I'm not sure I understand your comment. I mean, of course I altered the picture; look at what I wrote.

Or do you mean I altered the "anomoly" in the original photograph (the top picture)??

Because other than the arrows and the words in yellow, nothing in the TOP photograph has been altered. You can find that picture almost anywhere on the Internet. Just use Windows Picture Viewer and Zoom in all the way. When you do, that's what you see. It's never been disputed that something is there. What HAS been disputed is what it is.

I think it looks remarkably like a demonic-looking face (thus why I added the Linda Blair/Exorcist face into the bottom picture for comparison). Other people might think its a curtain. Who knows.....

Okay, Billy. I wasn't sure if that was serious or if you were goofing on the other face in windows pictures.

The other pictures is nothing more than light, shaddow, and branches reflecting off the glass. Our minds have a natural tendency to look for familiar patterns which is why some people see The Virgin Mary in a grilled cheese sandwhich. I think we make ourselves look silly when we get jazzed over something that can easily be explained away.

Good point...I especially liked your grilled cheese example. I mean if you took a picture of my house and windows I'm sure someone would see something in that reflection too. However with the Amityville Horror house I kinda like the mystery!

I don't think that there is anything "demonic" in this pic, I certainly don't think that it is a face of any sort. If you look at the original picture you can clearly see that whatever it is forms a shape on both sides of the centre pillar of the window. It looks alot squarer on the right side of the centre pillar. When Billy added the photo of Linda Blair it blocks out part of whatever it is on the right side of the pillar. The left side does resmble Blair but I believe that the shape appears 2-d instead of 3-d.

I tend to agree with the thinking that it is the window and curtain from the far end of the room. :D
Cheers,

Simon

I just threw that whole, "Some may think it's a curtain" thing out there just for arguments sake. In fact, it's probably not a curtain at all.

If you go back and look at the crime scene pics (which were taken within a day of this picture) then you will see that there is truly nothing there that would explain that anomoly. Of course, that's why it's so troubling to me: There is just nothing there from the inside that explains it.....

wow, i can see alot of faces in there,, and i am a beliver but at the same time i find it hard to belive that all those faces show up at the same time

i think most are just reflections, and things that we want to see,, but one or two of them looks authentic

Its not ON the inside - that's why - The first thing i saw when I looked at it was the chain holding the swinging high hopes sign - if you look theres another one along the other end of the sign about the same distance in from the edge
