Does anyone have a link for the Newsday photo of the house where people have seen faces in the windows? I was listening to the Magikmind interview with George Lutz where they discuss this, but the link they provide no longer goes to the photo and I haven't been able to locate it through searches :( .

Here ya go!

Newsday Photo as discussed on the MagickMind Radio Show interview with George Lutz:

Newsday Photo Of 112 Ocean Avenue The Day After The Murders

Its difficult to see the images he is talking about in this particular photograph. The reason is because it isn't anywhere near the quality photograph that George and the interviewer are looking at. Either way, this is the picture being referred to and you may be able to spot some things here and there.

Thanks for that picture, Billy, I've never seen it before.

I was under the impression the "pig" picture was one of the photographs taken on the night of the seance though, in March 1976.

Thanks Billy! Yeah, couldn't see anything in the windows unfortunatley. Double drat. Just curious, is the sign High Hopes the name of the subdivision or ?

...and I've never seen the infamous pig picture so if anyone has that you can e-mail me or post it here. Man, George needs to get on the ball with that book.

Thank you Billy!

I'm in awe (and a little afraid  ) at your ability to locate things.

I've never seen the pig photo either. Not sure that it's ever been posted on the internet.

I think George Lutz (and several others) have a tendency of making out diabolical imagery where there are simply shapes, flashes, reflections. If there was a paranormal "entity" living in the house, I seriously doubt it would pose for photographs.

I wasn't sure either Sherb, so I asked him. It turns out that the "pig" photo was taken on the day of the Investigation from the Driveway, looking up at the side of the house. An image of a pig appears to be looking out from Missy's bedroom window.

This photo (the Newsday Photo) showed some very interesting anomolies but isn't the famous "pig" photo.

Just curious, is the sign High Hopes the name of the subdivision or ?

It's a long story how the sign came to be but it was a sign that Ronald Defeo Sr. had made to express his family's sentiments about the house. It later became an ironic (and eerie) symbol of the tragedy that occurred there in November 1974.

I'm in awe (and a little afraid ) at your ability to locate things.

LOL, no problem.

Nope. That'll be one for the book :)

Does anyone know why the book continues to be delayed? Is it because George Lutz's energy has to be focussed elsewhere at the moment, or is he wary about dealing with large media corporations again? Are there complications over the ownership of some images (if some were taken by others)?

Exactly.

I'm sure things will die down soon and he will be able to focus more energy on it in the near future.

The Newsday photo seen on the Histories Mysteries documentaries on Amityville is quite clear, but it is unfortunately a little cropped (you can`t see the "man with a hat" in the backyard that George was talking about). However, if your dvd player has zoom ability, it should be quite easy to see quite a few of the creepy "shapes".

Wish I wouldn't of missed that documentary. Darn my luck. That sign always gave me the creeps, I never knew exactly what it meant but ....just gives ya the heebie jeebies.

I've seen the outilne of a pig in the driveway photo - yes it's made up of "shapes" and "reflections" but it resembles a pig nonetheless.

Also, lower in the diningroom window, is what looks like some sort figure wearing a face-mask, standing side-on... that was creepy.

You can always buy the Amityville Horror DVD - it's an extra!

Not even sure what I am supposed to see in this pic, but just under the "High" in the high hopes sign, is that a kid holding a doll in the pic ? Or is it part of the sign ? Or am I seeing things ?
