Has anyone downloaded google earth and looked up the house? I have, pretty neat stuff and you can zoom in pretty close. Its easy to find, just type in the address in the google earth search bar. If anyone wants me to post a image of it, just let me know. New to the site by the way, huge fan of Mr. Lutz

Welcome aboard!
I don't think George likes the idea of having "fans" though!

Was stretching for a word to use, "fan" seemed the safest. Looking forward to being here!

It's the house covered by the white arrow!
Try 108 Ocean Avenue.

Lol, I've never used this before!
So if you scroll up by pressing the UP arrow 4 times, I guess that's where Henry's Bar was, on the left-hand turn?

The row of shops are still there, but Henry's Bar was a 99c store the last we heard.

I noticed something while viewing that aerial photo.
In Anson's book, it contains a drawing of the property. According to that drawing, there is a street that runs along the south side of the property [same side as the front door]. The street in question is identified as "Coles Ave." in the book, yet it does not appear in this overhead view. Only a neighbor's driveway.
Anyone know if the neighboring house is new, as "Coles Avenue" does not appear to exist in this photo?
I can hear Mrs. Kaplan now....."that street doesn't exist, therefore the whole Amityville Horror is a hoax!" LOL

Oh. Interesting? The plan in the book appears to show it immediately south of the house. A mere 20' or so.
I'll take your word on that one though. Thanks.

Here's the plan I was referring to:
See how it can be misleading.
Again, I can hear Mrs Kaplan...."There is a mistake in the lot plan in the book, that means the whole Amityville Horror is a hoax!"

Do you mean anyone here on the boards? If that's not what you are talking about, there have been several owners since, and currently a man named Brian Wilson owns and resides in the home.

Try 108 Ocean Avenue.
108 Ocean Avenue shows the house. 112 Ocean Ave brought up a completely different place.

Here is what it looks like in Google Earth.. Seems pretty innocuous. I wonder if the next door neighbor has any dead indians in their yard!

Yaddabooooooo (EEK!)

I found the same problem when I looked up 112 ocean avenue, then i found out that to deter visitors they changed the numbering system for the street so it is now actually 108 ocean avenue not 112.
