So...if the DVD is going to be based on The Night The DeFeo's Died...I wonder why Ric is going to publish a book titled The Amityville Murders?

Same book different title?

Or maybe this new will book will focus on the "seventh victim" and the vagrant that Mr. DeFeo allegedly "offed" in the boathouse?

The book titles and 'play on words' are about as creative as their website title.

Krissy,

Great point about the titles, especially since High Hopes is officially titled...

High Hopes - The Amityville Murders

...leave it to Osuna to snatch the second half...and then slap a trademark on it!

Then again, we shouldn't be surprised...he's the same guy who registered...

Indeed he did Maxwell. The proof is all right here for those who wish to check it out:

Tracey needs to slap a suit against him for that one.

Yeah, I think it will be a new book, with all the same crap in it, probably laid out in a more kind of story manner so that they can turn it into a "Movie" and not a documentry.

This is most likely his next move, go mainstream... so to speak... heh heh

You Ba$tard you killed Amityville!!! ;)

Way to go ZZVampy, Love the Dough-Boy... hahahaha

*** Edit ***

I personally don't think his writing skills are near good enough to write a Novel but... with his teaming-up, maybe they can pay someone with talent to write it for him, but then again, Jay Anson primarily wrote documentries as well.

What the heck is that? Interesting.
Is it a book or a movie or a load of crap or what?

Nope, that is a first for me. Of course I watch and read anything that I can get my hands on about Amityville.

Just want to thank you, now I can't get the song Kashmir out of my head.

Being it supports the theories of Mr. Osuna, I'm not sure if this can be trusted.

Still interesting...

Hmmm...

Post by LisaMarie » Wed Dec 28, 2005 5:51 pm

Is that another Osuna attempt to get his "Night the Defeos Died" made into a movie?

Oh brother...

I don't get the soiled memory part.

Osuna used to say over and over that The Amityville Horror soiled the memory of the Defeos. I'm not quite sure how he came to that conclusion. The new movie sure does soil their memory. But the original didn't. Nor did the book.

He'd say stuff like that then he'd send out their full color autopsy photos and never consider that bad. I'm sure he still considers his endeavor with Berry-Dee to be Top Shelf.

Just try to keep in mind that the more angles you can get on a story the more informed you'll be, even if the source that you are getting it from is iffy. It sounds like a documentary? So hopefully they will have some reliable people to interview.

For anyone that knows, why is Ric Osuna still apparantly supporting Geraldine "DeFeo"? She is still listed on the front page of his webpage. Wasn't she proven to be a fraud?

Nope. The publisher Katzenbach is Ric's old partner in crime.

So that means that means another fictionalised, embellished Amityville-related project will be released into the mainstream?

If you call printing off a paltry TWENTY copies of your clients book a surge into the mainstream, then yes!

http://www.amityvillehorrortruth.com/part1.txt
25 Q. Was the Katco edition on glossy paper?

1 RIC. It was laminated.

2 Do you mean the cover?

3 Q. No.

4 A. You know, I know he used the good paper. I had

5 no say in what he used, because he was the publisher. I

6 know it was good paper. It was thick.

7 Q. As you discussed with -- Katzenbach, was it?

8 A. Yeah, right.

9 Q. -- the publication of "The Night the DeFeos

10 Died" --

11 A. Yes.

12 Q. -- wasn't it discussed that he would put out a

13 book that would do justice to the photos in the book and

14 show them much better?

15 A. The only thing I recall is I told him, "Look,

16 nobody wants to read a coffee-table book," because this --

17 I mean, a coffee-table book is a coffee-table book. And

18 he likes this idea. All his other paperbacks, his books,

19 have been coffee-table size, eight and a half by eleven,

20 or whatever the exact size is. All of his other books

21 have been that size or -- or the ones I mentioned -- the

22 Titanic and the Elvis Presley book -- have been that size,

23 as well.

24 I never asked for that size. Actually, I told

25 him, for the record, I would rather have the smaller size,

1 because if you ever decide to do something with this

2 book -- and this is obviously before I knew he wasn't

3 going to do anything with the book -- then it basically

4 would be stocked on the shelves easier than, maybe, a

5 coffee-table sized book.

6 I hope that kind of makes sense.

7 Q. So, one of the 20 copies were sold, like, a

8 coffee-table book?

9 A. Yes. Roughly 20 copies. I can't say the exact

10 numbers. I never got an exact count.
