In light of movies such as The Last Exorcism and other similar themed movies of late adding the Amityville name might not work as people have viewed movies with this formula before. Since of late there has not been many original idea based movies coming out.

Although this sounds like it would be good I will reserve the right to change my opinion if or when I view it.

Well that trailer above has turned into something different altogether!

But the film still exists: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6068978/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I just got done viewing this film, & I must say that I am impressed. It may not adhere to actual facts surrounding the Amityville case, but it's a lot of fun.

'Amityville Exorcism' takes the 'John G. Jones Amityville: The Evil Escapes' approach, with some second hand lumber from the original house being used for construction on the house portrayed in the movie. This wood then spreads it's evil through the house, creating all sorts of havoc.

I would recommend this film to any fan of the original series.

I personally think it is unfair to 'steal' the Amityville Horror name to use as a free advertisement of bait to lure people in. If the story truly is that entertaining and has nothing to do with the (possibly) true events of the original stories then the story should not need the Amityville name to be succesful. The wood could have been from a tree that was once part of a cursed graveyard or grown out of some hellmouth with an evil past giving the story an original plot beginning. There is just too much crap (recently) that should stand on ist own (crap) foundation and not call itself Amityville instead of crap (or something original if that good), in my opinion.

Btw, djsacrosanct, compliment on an original name. With a name like that, you won't have me 'bad mouthing' you anytime soon. ;)
