Mmmkay, thanks for a good case of the creeps! I actually turned around and looked at the staircase after watching that clip. That bedroom looks EXACTLY like mine...even the door in relation to where my bed is, is identical.

Umm, I think I have to go over to the neighbors until the kids get home.

dude that was creepy! I don't sleep in the dark for exactly the reason the movie shows. My sister's creeped me out before too, she said that I had someone standing at the end of my bed, and she used to put stuff down at the corner of my bed she said it would help so the figure wouldn't sit on my bed... CREEPY!

I always sleep with the lights off. I figure if I leave the lights off, the demons will likely stub their toes in the dark and never come back.

As far as I know it does not have a release date yet. It played Sundance I believe in hopes of getting a distributor. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about it soon.

Paranormal Activity

A guy, a girl and a camera. The possibilities for entertainment there are endless, right? Well, that scenario in the hands of director Oren Peli, however, begins as playful mystery and turns into a living nightmare for San Diego couple Katie and Micah. When they suspect their home is being haunted, Micah purchases a digital camera to record the occurrences. "Paranormal Activity" is the edited account of their experience from late September to early October 2006. Think of it as The Amityville Horror and The Entity by way of The Blair Witch Project. Peli shot the film in seven days using only a rough outline to carry his actors through the scenes, the result is an exercise in claustrophobia and anxiety that Robert Wise would commend.

Dreamworks to remake "Paranormal Activity"

Post by kudzu » Fri Feb 01, 2008 2:37 pm

January 31, 2008

When Oren Peli made his supernatural thriller "Paranormal Activity," the first-time filmmaker had no money, no time and a crew of three. Next time around, the video game designer will have a lot more resources at his disposal: DreamWorks intends to remake the movie, with Peli back in the director's chair.

The studio made the deal following "Paranormal Activity's" screenings at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah. Another company, IM Global, will broker the release of Peli's original film overseas.

"It's the best of both worlds," said Jason Blum, who shepherded the film through Slamdance and will produce the remake. "We get to see how the original will do and we get to remake it ourselves."

Peli's low-budget original movie will be released on DVD along with the remake, after the remake is released theatrically. There is no planned schedule for the remake's production, and no new script yet.

"It's definitely very exciting -- I am still digesting it," Peli said Wednesday. "Now we can try to do some things that were not possible before."

So they are remaking a film before it ever gets released! I am glad the original is going to be released to dvd...we'll just have to wait for it. Dammit.

Interesting they want to remake it... hmmmm...

Btw, forget about the above festival screenings --
Hi everyone,

Just a quick update: we had to unfortunately cancel all future festival screenings due to the Dreamworks deal. Please be assured that Paranormal Activity will eventually be shown domestically and internationally – may just take a bit extra time.

Thanks for your support!
